Исчисляемые и неисчисляемые существительные в контексте дома и быта

Исчисляемые существительные

Большинство предметов мебели и бытовой техники в английском языке — исчисляемые существительные. Это означает, что они имеют форму единственного и множественного числа:

• a chair, chairs — стул, стулья
• a table, tables — стол, столы
• a bed, beds — кровать, кровати
• a lamp, lamps — лампа, лампы

С исчисляемыми существительными в единственном числе используются артикли a/an или the:

• I need a new desk for my home office.

Неисчисляемые существительные

Использование there is/there are при описании дома

Конструкция there is/there are (есть, имеется) часто используется при описании наличия предметов или комнат в доме:
